Marco’s Pizza Franchise Opens First of Three Locations in Macon, Georgia
The nation’s fastest-growing pizza franchise expands into Middle Georgia with a total of seven planned locations for the summer of 2015
The Telegraph, Middle Georgia’s source for news, recently reported that Marco’s Pizza® franchise has opened the first of three locations in the Macon metropolitan area, with seven more restaurants right on its heels to open in Middle Georgia by summer’s end.
The newly open location is right in Macon, and The Telegraph reports that in addition to bringing at least 35 new jobs to the area, Marco’s threw a worthy Grand Opening party for the neighborhood with free pizza for a year available to the first 100 people in line. The Grand Opening also featured a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony and lots of fun for kids, including a karate show, police and fire department demonstrations, free pizza, and a pizza-eating competition.
While Marco’s definitely knows how to throw a Grand Opening party, it’s just as important to remain a partner of choice in each of our communities long after the Grand Opening, and that means giving back in meaningful ways.
“As each store opens, a friends-and-family event will take place with a canned food drive to benefit a local organization and a live radio remote,” The Telegraph reports.
The news of our rapid expansion is not a surprise; Marco’s Pizza took the No. 3 spot in Forbes list of “The Best Franchises to Buy in 2015” for franchises with an initial investment of $150,000 to $500,000, again took the No. 3 spot in Consumer Reports’ pizza category restaurant rankings and was No. 8 on Franchise Times’ “2015 Fast and Serious” list for the second year in row. The annual ranking evaluates franchise companies that show strong staying power and sustainable growth over a period of three years.
Marco’s Pizza, the fastest-growing pizza chain in the nation, recently topped the 600-unit mark, and our goal is to reach 1,000 stores by early 2017.
“The amount of growth we have experienced has been phenomenal,” said Cameron Cummins, Vice President of Franchise Development for Marco’s Pizza. “A lot of our competitors have been hopping on the artisan pizza bandwagon, but we have been making our pizzas in the homemade Italian style since we opened in 1978. We are still growing in prime markets, which is a direct result of having great products and a leadership team that backs up our franchisees.”
The Telegraph reports that all three of Macon-area pizza franchise locations will feature a charity night, where members of the Macon community can give back.
In addition to the phenomenal growth planned for Middle Georgia, we plan to open Marco’s Pizza franchise locations in major metropolitan areas across the country, including Knoxville, Denver and Las Vegas in the coming years. Globally, plans are under way to expand to serve growing demand in India, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in Asia and Africa.
